Certification for Organizations

At IITA, we offer specialized certification for organizations committed to delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive tourism experiences while adhering to international best practices. Our certifications are designed to recognize organizations that operate in the intercultural tourism sector and meet rigorous standards for both inbound and outbound tourism services.

Certifications

CITS / Certified Intercultural Tourism Studio

For organizations with fewer than 5 employees, focused on serving inbound or outbound tourism for foreign or culturally diverse travellers. To qualify for this certification, at least one staff member must complete the Certified Intercultural Tourism Management Expert program, and at least one other must complete either the Certified Intercultural Tourism Planner or Certified Intercultural Tourism Guide program.

CITA / Certified Intercultural Tourism Agency

For organisations with more than 5 employees that provide services to inbound or outbound travellers from diverse cultural backgrounds. To qualify for this certification, the organisation must have at least one staff member who has completed the Certified Intercultural Tourism Management Expert, one who has completed the Certified Intercultural Tourism Planner, and one who has completed the Certified Intercultural Tourism Guide program.

CISTO / Certified Intercultural Study Tour Organisation

This certification is for organizations involved in providing intercultural study tour programs, including those serving inbound and outbound youth groups, especially minors. The organization must have at least one staff member who has completed the Certified Intercultural Study Tour Expert program.

How to Get Certified

The certification process involves an application, verification of staff qualifications, and an assessment of your organization's tourism practices. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive official certification as a Certified Intercultural Tourism Studio/Agency/Study Tour Organisation.
